Leberl, Taschler Sauvignon Sauvignon 2015

There are many guises of Sauvignon Blanc with a varied wide range of aromas and flavours. Classic or traditional as Sancerre or Poilly-Fume. Full of flavours and for some slightly overpowering Sauvignon Blancs from New Zealand (my fauvorite). Or just hinting those aromas like the Sauvignon Blancs from Chile.

Recently sampled a Sauvignon Blanc from Burgenland in Austria. Was impressed by the minerality and subtleness of the 2015 wine. The fresh cut grass finish is refreshingly balanced with high acidity. The perfect summer drink. Similar to classic Sancerre and Poilly Fume yet at a fraction of the price. Mental note: sample Sauvignon Blanc wines from Burgenland in Austria or any of the German slate soil areas (Mosel/Rheingau/Plafz).

What a pleasure!
